Approved adult dosing

Rilpivirine (Edurant) 25 mg + tenofovir alafenamide 25 mg + emtricitabine (Emtriva) 200 mg in a single tablet

one tablet Odefsey

  • Daily


Notes on taking this medication

  • Take with a full meal (do not take without food)
  • Medicines for indigestion, heartburn, and ulcers (including medicines available over the counter) may block the body's absorption of rilpivirine + tenofovir alafenamide + emtricitabine(Odefsey); check with your medical provider before using these medicines
  • Rilpivirine + tenofovir alafenamide + emtricitabine (Odefsey) can interact with other drugs; consult your medical provider
  • Persons with kidney problems may need an adjustment to their doses of the component drugs, so may not be able to take this combination pill
  • Rilpivirine + tenofovir alafenamide + emtricitabine (Odefsey) is very similar to rilpivirine + tenofovir DF + emtricitabine (Complera) but may be safer for kidneys and bones

Rilpivirine (Edurant)

  • Depression, mood changes
  • Nausea
  • Rash

Tenofovir alafenamide

  • Gassiness; abdominal discomfort; nausea; diarrhea
  • Kidney impairment
  • Tenofovir alafenamide is active against hepatitis B, and stopping it can cause "flare-up" of hepatitis B

Emtricitabine (Emtriva)

  • Skin discoloration (particularly in dark-skinned people)
  • Emtricitabine is active against hepatitis B, and stopping it can cause "flare-up" of hepatitis B
